The Rotating Family Birthday Card

A few years ago, I heard someone share an idea that I thought would be fun.  You can save a lot of money by doing it, but frankly I think that the idea is more fun than the money saved.

For those of you who are frugal, let's say that you have 20 members of your family or extended family.  If each card cost $2, that would be a total of $40, but that is the savings for just one person.  Anyway, you get the idea.

So, here's the deal.  One person finds a card that will be used for the next year.  They send it to the next person who has a birthday and sign it.  The person who gets it for their birthday will sign it and then send it off to the next person in the family with a birthday.  That person will sign it and then pass it on to the next person in the family, and so on.  By the end of the year, everyone will have had a chance to sign it and you can keep passing it around until there is no more room to sign if you want.  It is just a fun, different way to do things.  It is fun to receive and fun to sign and send on to future recipients.

Has anyone tried this in their family?
