Cooking for 2: Blonde Brownie

Ingredients

2 Tablespoons butter, softened
1/3 cup light brown sugar
1 Tablespoon whisked egg
½ teaspoon vanilla
1/3 cup flour
¼ teaspoon baking powder
Pinch of salt
Pinch of baking soda
2 Tablespoons chocolate chips
2 Tablespoons chopped pecans
A few extra chocolate chips and chopped pecans to sprinkle on top

Directions

Mix butter and brown sugar together.  Add egg and vanilla and mix.  Add flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda and mix.  Add chocolate chips and chopped nuts and mix.  Place in a greased 5 inch round baking pan.  I always line the bottom with parchment paper after I grease the pan.  It makes it easier to get out of the pan.  Bake at 325 for 25-28 minutes.  Let brownie cool in the pan for a few minutes.  Take a knife and go around the edges.  Take out of pan after a few minutes and let it finish cooling on a cooling rack or serve right away with ice cream or milk.
