Conquer Clutter: Start With Yourself

When you look around your home, many times the clutter does not belong to you.  Family members may not value an uncluttered home like you do.  Before saying something to them, start with yourself.  Make sure you don't have any piles of your own around the house.  Are your clothes hung up or in the laundry?  Do you put your own things away after using them?  Once you have mastered your own clutter, then encourage those around you.  Set the example and hopefully they will follow.  This way you are not asking them to do things that you don't do yourself.  Offer to help them.  They may feel overwhelmed and not know where to begin.  It takes time for habits to change, so be patient and consistent and hopefully it will pay off!
