Simple Savings: Check out Plastic Jungle for Gift Cards
This morning I read about a website called Plastic Jungle. I have never used this resource before, but it looks like a nice way to save some money if you are going to buy gifts cards anyway. If you plan to go to any of these stores yourself, it may be something to look into also. You can buy or sell gift cards on this sight. The website says that transactions are guaranteed and shipping is free.

Though I haven't used it, I have heard good things about Plastic Jungle. I'm not sure what the fee is for selling a card (it probably varies), but even if you have to sell it at a loss, it may be better than spending that money on something or at a place you wouldn't otherwise.
ReplyDeleteI decided to check it out real quick and if select "Sell a gift card" and then select a retailer from the menu it will tell you the buyback rate for that particular card. I looked up Outback Steakhouse, for example, and the rate is about 68%. So we would get about $17 out of a $25 gift card. Not great but if you really don't like Outback and would rather have $17, this is one way to do it. You can recoup a little bit of the loss if you exchange instead of sell because the cards they sell are also sold at a discount. Although they don't offer cards for all of the same places that they accept.
