Master the Mess in a Month: Day 9

Today was the laundry room.  I need to get some paint and paint this room.  I started painting and realized half way through that it was the wrong color.  The room and cupboards are clean.  I found a retractable clothesline I had forgotten that I had.  We will put it up outside in the summer and try using it.  I also had some Pledge wipes that had dried up since I don't use them any more.  I got rid of two other cleaners.  I have a lot of eco-friendly cleaners, but can do better still.  Here are pictures:

The lower shelf of this last picture has my supply of plastic bags:  trash bags, sandwich bags, Ziploc bags, plastic wrap and foil.  I didn't buy any of these items for 7 months last year and saved a lot of money in the process.  I got lazy after we had company come and wasted more as well as spent more money on these things.  It is hard to change habits when you have grown up doing them, but I really want to be more eco-friendly and this is one simple way to do so.  I will see if I can make it past the 7 months without buying any this year.

It is easy to find what you need when you have a place for everything and you put it back in its place for next time.  It's funny how every time you go through a room for spring or fall cleaning, you think you can't find one more thing to get rid of and then you find more that you don't need.  Maybe having the other clutter out of the way helps to think more clearly.

I went ahead and did my son's room.  Since he is not living at home right now, I just washed the sheets and duvet cover, vacuumed and dusted.  I don't think it is right for me to go through his closet and drawers without him here.  Next time he comes home, we will have to do that.  Here are a couple of pictures.  They may be a bit blurry.
