Bigger is Not Always Better

As I sit here writing this post, I cannot avoid the big printer sitting on the desk before me.  I have asked myself more than once why we ever got it.  It is a deluxe model and we had the money to pay for it.  But, when we got home, it didn't fit where we had planned to put it.  It can also fax stuff, but we never fax stuff from home.  You can get both sides printed by putting your paper on top, but we have rarely used that feature.  So, it sits here hanging over the desk leaving a lot of empty space behind it because it is too big and too tall to fit where we want it to go.  We should have just got a smaller model that does what we need it to.  We didn't need all the extra bells and whistles on a printer.

Before you go shopping for something, figure out what you really want and need.  The bigger house, the bigger car, the bigger sofa, the bigger entertainment center, the bigger set of toys, the bigger container of spices, or whatever it may be may not be what suits your needs the best and it is better to find out before you buy it instead of after.  It may save you money in the long run.
