Can I Do Without? The Cutting Board
I realized today that I have 3 cutting boards that I don't really like. The two plastic ones have been melted, bent, and are pretty thrashed. In fact, one time when someone came to visit and asked if they were garbage! The wood cutting board is beautiful- it was a wedding gift, and was had made by one of my friend's dads. But, it wasn't supposed to be a cutting board- it was never finished, and we have only used it for bread. It is now pretty torn up, too, so I decided it was time for it to go. So, now that I'm getting rid of all of my cutting boards, I had to ask myself, do I need a new one? Or can I do without a cutting board?
After a week of going cuttingboard-less, I have decided I want a cutting board. Medium size, plastic, and dishwasher safe. So, I can do without my three old, ruined cutting boards, but I definitely don't want to go without one good cutting board that I like!

When we had our kitchen reno done, I told the cabinet maker that I wanted two built in cutting boards...one smaller and one large. He chuckled and said that those were out of date but I insisted. Funny thing was, after the kitchen was done, his wife was over and remarked how much she loved those cutting boards. I absolutely LOVE them and use them every single day!
