Conquer Clutter: Good, Better, and Best

As I was fixing lunch today, I thought of how good habits can help to keep your home clean. I will use the dishes to illustrate my point.

Good: Put in the sink with water in it so it doesn't get crusty.

Better: Rinse off and stack by the side of the sink to be washed.

Best: Wash right away or empty dishwasher and put dishes in dishwasher right away.

It takes more time to do the dishes if you leave them crusty and don't rinse them off. So, in the long run, you do save yourself time by doing it right away. It also looks much nicer in the kitchen. I don't know about you but I feel happier coming into a clean kitchen than a dirty one.

Note: I always put dishwasher soap in the dishwasher after putting away a clean load of dishes. This way I will know if the dishes are clean or dirty. If the soap container is still shut then they are dirty, but if it is open then they are clean.
