Planning the Thanksgiving Meal

I sat down this morning to figure out what we will have for Thanksgiving in a few weeks. Most years we have the following:

Turkey

Stuffing from homemade bread

Homemade Gravy

Mashed Potatoes - cooked potatoes, butter, sour cream, milk, roasted garlic, cooked bacon bits and cheese

Homemade rolls - This year my daughter wants to have the Lion House Rolls

Sweet Potato Casserole

Raspberry Jello with LOTS of frozen raspberries from our garden

Green Salad or veggie tray & dip

Vegetable Pizza - Will share recipe next week

Banana Cream Pie - Todd Wilbur's Restaurant Clone

Cherry Pie - with filling I made and froze from sour cherries this summer

Pumpkin Pie - Usually homemade from pumpkin we cook and puree in food processor; as a last resort, we will use canned if we have to.

What do you have for your Thanksgiving dinner? Any favorite recipes you would like to share?

  1. Your menu sounds a lot like mine. Traditional favorites. We are having roasted turkey & gravy, apple stuffing, jello fruit salad, broccoli w/ cheese sauce, relish plate (olives, pickles, gherkins), homemade whole wheat rolls & butter, cranberries, pumpkin pie, apple cider & wine. I can hardly wait.
