The Dirty Dozen vs. The Clean Fifteen

Organic produce can be pricy. On my limited budget, I try to buy some organic things. Usually it is dairy, but sometimes I buy organic produce. If you have to choose between which produce to buy organic and which isn't as important, there is a great guideline to use. There are 12 that are very high in pesticides and they are called the dirty dozen. There are also 15 that are low in pesticides and they are called the clean fifteen. So, buy organics off the dirty dozen list and not the clean fifteen if you have to choose. You can lower the pesticides that go into your body by up to 90% just by doing this. The list was found here. There are a lot of other places you can find it on the internet.

The Dirty Dozen: Peaches, Apples, Sweet Bell Peppers, Celery, Nectarines, Strawberries, Cherries, Kale, Lettuce, Imported Grapes, Carrots, Pears

The Clean 15: Onions, Avacado, Frozen Sweet Corn, Pineapples, Mango, Asparagus, Frozen Sweet Peas, Kiwi, Cabbage, Eggplant, Papaya, Watermelon, Broccoli, Tomatoes, Sweet Potatoes, Grapefruit
