Sweet Potatoes for Thanksgiving

With Thanksgiving coming up, I thought I would publish our all time favorite Sweet Potatoes. I don't usually eat sweet potatoes, but these are really good. I usually use a few less sweet potatoes when I am making them. I got the recipe from a friend in Louisiana when we lived there for a few years.

SWEET POTATOES WITH PECANS

10 sweet potatoes (large) ¾ can Carnation milk

1 ½ cups sugar 1 ½ Tablespoons vanilla

1 ½ sticks butter

Mash sweet potatoes (after cooking). Add all ingredients. Make 25 min. at 350.

Topping:

2 sticks butter (melted) ½ cup flour

1 cup brown sugar 1 cup pecans

Pour on top of sweet potatoes. Make at 350 for 15 min.

  1. Here in SC we call it Sweet Potato Crunch and many retaurants in our area serve it year round.
