50 Dollar Grocery Challenge - Spent $44.99 total

I have finished part of my shopping this week, but still need to shave off 5 dollars before I finish the rest.  Here is what I have so far:
Total spent on trip above after coupons:  $15.40
1.99    Locally grown carrots 2 lbs.
  .99    Chocolate silk (used $2 coupon)
1.00    3 grapefruit
  .50    Tilamook sour cream - reduced
2.22    3.76 lbs. Pink Lady apples at 59 cents/lb
2.09    2.11 lbs. Organic Zucchini at .99/lb
2.99    Local Farm Eggs - 1 dozen
2.40    Tomatoes on the vine 1.42 lbs at 1.69/lb
1.22    Bananas 2.07 lbs. at 59 cents/lb
Total for picture above after coupons:  16 cents

Free    2 Sabra Hummus
 .16     2 5 lb. Gold Medal Better for Bread at 8 cents each (had coupons for $3.70 off one)
 1.29    8 oz. colby cheese on sale
   .93    grapes .73 lbs.
1.00     mangoes (2)
1.38     cantaloupe
3.52     (8) Tilamook yogurts
1.38     (2) 1 lb. bags of carrots
1.60     (6) yoplait yogurts reduced + coupon
1.79     cauliflower
1.80     okra - frozen
2.66     gala apples 3.85 lbs. at 69/lb
1.87     broccoli 2.37 lbs. at 79/lb
  .99     green pepper
1.39     bananas  2.35 lbs. at 59/lb
  .69     red leaf lettuce
  .69     green leaf lettuce

Not Pictured:
3.98     (2) gallons of milk at 1.99 each on sale
1.00     avacado
1.47     (3)  5 lb. bags of potatoes at .49 on sale

Total for this trip:  $29.43

Grand Total for the week:  $44.99   That still leaves me a few dollars if Albertson's does double coupons this weekend!

  2. Great job Marianne! Did you go to a farmers market? I like all the locally grown produce you have. I need to make a trip to the store for some fresh produce! I didn't shop much this week. I hope I can go tonight or tomorrow.

  3. I just bought the produce on sale at several different stores in town. Some weeks you can get good prices and other weeks you just can't!
