I don't usually do a post like this, but I was interested to see how you feel about masks. I have been in contact with a few very opinionated people lately. One called people idiots for not wearing masks, one said that Covid is over, and one said that if people don't wear masks, then they deserve to die. While I don't agree with any of them, I wanted to share my thoughts. First of all, I don't enjoy wearing masks as much as the next person. That being said, there are people who cannot get the vaccine, and kids who have not been able to as well. I feel like it is my responsibility to show love and respect to all people. That is why I wear a mask. This isn't all about me. If it was, then I would be glad to skip the mask any day. But, this is about "US", both you and me. We need to protect each other. We don't know what health challenges others have, and frankly that is a personal thing. But, I just imagine that I am doing it for someone I love to keep them safe. It seems like people are so concerned about their rights and not having anyone tell them what to do. Remember, it isn't about you. It is about US. We, as a nation, can rise above this, but we need to do it together.
I look back at England during the second World War. Most hated eating the "National Loaf" and didn't really enjoy the rations either. But, they did it as a nation and they survived. They were healthier and stronger as a nation in the end, as they worked together. They cooperated and didn't demand what they felt were their entitlements. Let's work together and show how strong we are as Americans. Give others the respect and care that you would like them to do for you.
