When it comes to food storage, having peanut butter and jelly around is vital in our house. It makes great sandwiches for lunch and the combination of the nuts and wheat form a protein complement. We always have some peanut butter and homemade jelly around. We also keep honey. If you aren't a jelly fan, honey is a good alternative or just put peanut butter by itself.
When someone says their wheat bread is the best, I like to try it to see if it really is that good. So, today I tried this recipe. The recipe directions are very clear and easy to follow. Right now the bread is in the oven rising. As for using food storage, there were two things that weren't something many people would have on hand. Gluten isn't something you would regularly have in your cupboards but is important to have on hand if you want to make good 100% whole wheat bread. Gluten makes the bread light and yummy. The other thing is lemon juice. I would imagine most people don't have lemons in their fridge, especially ones that would last a long time. I substituted with "Real Lemon". something that you can keep on your shelf until it is opened.
