Organic, Healthy and Cheap!

Have you ever made your own popcorn?  One of the biggest challenges I find is to eat organic foods on a tight budget.  Usually organic = expensive.  Popcorn is something you can splurge on and it won't break the budget.  It is considered a whole grain and it is healthy, organic and cheap.  Organic popcorn costs less than the cheapest brand of cookie that you can find.  Look at the volume of popcorn you get for the same price of the cheap cookies.  Organic popcorn can be found in the bulk section of your store.  You can buy as much or as little as you want.  That way you can stay in your budget, whatever it may be.  Add to it the cost of a couple of tablespoons of oil and a little salt and you are good to go.

Make your own popcorn.  If you go to a movie theater and buy popcorn, you are going to spend approximately 6 to 9 dollars.  This price doesn't include the extra cost of butter on top if there is a surcharge.  This popcorn isn't too healthy for you.  Microwave popcorn is not good for you at all.  Save yourself the toxins from the bag and the trash that you contribute to the landfill.  It is also more expensive as well.  It doesn't take very long to make your own popcorn and it if fun to hear it pop.  Try it.  Your pocketbook and your body will thank you!
