Conquer Clutter: Set a Timer

Yesterday I was making some granola bars and had about 20 minutes before they would be done.  I was amazed at all the things I was able to do in that short amount of time.  So much of housework is emotional.  It is trying to motivate ourselves to do things we don't always want to do.  So, next time you feel a little sluggish, set a timer for 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes or 30 minutes.  Do what suits you best and see how much you can get done when you know you can stop when the timer goes off.

  1. I saw this and thought it was brilliant! I started planning mini 30 minute sessions each day and can not believe the amount I can get done in that short time. Also, knowing it will only be 30 minutes makes it easier to start
