What's under your bed? When was the last time you looked? When I was first married, I used the space under our bed for storage. There isn't a lot of room in a one bedroom apartment for all of the wedding gifts you get as well as the things you brought to marriage. It seemed like a great place. We got nice looking plastic storage containers and I was set. A few years later, I read some Feng Shui books because of my interest in decluttering and organizing. Although I don't believe in the superstition that relates to some Feng Shui ideas, I did like the teaching that there is energy in your home that needs to flow. The way your place your furniture makes a difference in how the room feels. Clearing hot spots of clutter helps the energy to flow without being blocked. So, I took everything out from under our beds and placed them elsewhere. It was hard to give up the storage space at first, but I enjoyed being in the room more because it just felt cleaner and better. It is nice to have empty spaces in our home that aren't blocked with clutter.
If you have stuff under your bed, find a time in the next week or two to see what you have under there. Remove everything and leave yourself some open space under your bed.
