These cookies literally melt in your mouth as you eat them. I had them at a luncheon with some friends and they were fantastic. I would like to try the recipe using lemon and see how it turns out!
Orange Melt-Away Cookies
1 cup real butter
3/4 cup cornstarch
Blend the two together and then add:
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 cup flour or a little more as needed
1 teaspoon orange extract
orange zest from half an orange
Roll into balls and then smash them down a little bit. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
3 oz. cream cheese
1 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon orange extract or go half orange extract and half vanilla
orange zest from the other half of the orange
(She also uses a bit of softened butter and more powdered sugar)
