Homemade Corn Tortilla Chips

Today I tried to make homemade Tortilla Chips.  They were a success.  My daughter came home from school and I had them ready for an after school snack.  She loved them.  They are fat free, didn't take much time and were easy to make.  I watched a couple of videos on how to make tortilla chips and chose parts of each to make my own.  Basically, you do the following:

1 cup Masa (Harina) corn flour
1/4 cup all purpose or unbleached flour
salt to taste
water - enough to make the dough so it isn't sticky

Roll out very thin on parchment paper.  Sprinkle flour on before rolling and use as much as you need so it doesn't stick.  Cut into triangles.  Sprinkle Lawry's Seasoning salt on top.  I used the clone recipe, here, for the Lawry's Seasoning Salt.    Bake at 375 until done.  You can make the chips less crunchy if you cook them for a shorter time period.

I will have to try making corn tortillas now!

Do you have any recipes you would like to share?  Link up and let us know so we can try them!

  1. You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this topic to be really something which I think I would never understand.
