I downloaded the book for free (thank you - can't wait to try many of your recipes!) and am excited to try the challenge. My question: Is this $50 only for food items? When I grocery shop, I will usually need to get some non-food items like sandwich baggies, drinking straws, parchment paper, napkins, etc., etc.
ReplyDeleteThe $50 is for food only that started with a family of 4 and now we are down to three. I set aside $50 for the month for other household items including any pet food, etc. I don't always use that much, but I set it aside anyway. In the past year, I started using rags to clean on a regular basis instead of paper towels and we use cloth napkins and have tried to use containers more than plastic bags. That has kept the cost down pretty low. Hope you enjoy the ideas in the book. If you have any questions at all about menus or recipes or anything, don't hesitate to ask!
