Keeping Things Picked Up
Instead of focusing on a new area today, I decided to take the time to clean up rooms I have already finished. I picked up and cleaned 4 rooms that had been done previously and even cleaned up a new room completely in less than an hour. It just goes to show that it doesn't take as much time to do the physical labor of decluttering and cleaning. I think most of the time we spend is is more mental or emotional as we feel the burden of unnecessary stuff in our homes, try to avoid it, and try to try to find the motivation to do it. It was nice to get so much done in such a short time. One thing I did, was to take breaks and do something I wanted to do in between the times I worked on the rooms. As I go through the rooms, I am cleaning all bedding and curtains and it is nice to have the room completely clean from top to bottom. When there isn't much clutter in a room, the cleaning goes fast. I should have time to get the rest of the house completely decluttered, including the garage, before our company comes in three weeks!
