$25 Two Week Challenge: Spent $24.79
The top picture above is the food I bought for the week. In the second picture, the berries, oyster sauce, peanut sauce and grapes were given to me by a friend who was going out of town. The bread and butter were left over from when I helped serve at a luncheon yesterday. What a wonderful surprise and it will make this week much nicer!
I stayed in my limit again this week, but I am glad I am just doing this for two weeks. Nicole, one of the other Spendwise moms, usually spends $25 - $30 for the two of them. But, since she is busy in graduate school right now and pregnant on top of that, she doesn't have a lot of time to post. She is doing the $5 pantry challenge each week if you are interested. I usually spend $50 for the 3 of us and don't have any desire to go any lower. I sat down and figured out how we could reasonably spend $25 per week, but frankly I am not willing to do it on a regular basis. I missed buying the Organic plain yogurt this week and a few other things I wanted to get. But, I will spend $50 again starting next week.
Today's haul:
Organic carrots 1.19
Lemon .50
Broccoli 1.29
Oranges .94
Organic Romaine lettuce 2.50
Roma tomatoes 1.97 ( I am substituting some of these for the grape tomatoes in one of the recipes)
Avocado .99
Carrots - Not organic - Two at .69 each
Yogurt - Four at 59 cent each
Bananas 1.49
Local Farm milk 2.79
Red Onion 41 cents
Garlic .01
Gala Apples .01 Looks like they messed up, because I didn't spend that much on Golden Delicious, but I bought more galas than that! I will have to see what happened.
Golden Delicious 2.09
Braeburns 1.58
Green Olives 1.38
Jonagold 1.55
Total spent: $24.79
