$50 Grocery Challenge - Spent $48.41

I had every intention of getting some sale things this week, but didn't feel like I wanted to take the time to go to more than one store. I got the ingredients I need to make the dinners for this week and a few things for the upcoming holiday. We still have apples, potatoes, carrots and onions to last for a while. I also have orange juice and some fruit left from last week and lots of frozen veggies in the freezer we are trying to use up. This is the breakdown for this week:

Tomatoes 1.29
Green Chilies (2) at 65 cents each
Parsley Flakes 1.35
Italian Shredded Cheese 2.39
Grape leaves 4.94
Brown Cow Yogurt (2) at 89 cents each
Butter 2.69
Avocado .99
Parmesan Cheese 2.59
Cream Cheese 1.61
Lemons (2) at 50 cents each
Shrimp 3.99
Organic Feta Cheese 3.69
Navy Beans 1.67
Organic Whipping Cream 1.59
Organic Half and Half 1.69
Mayonnaise 3.99
Local Farm Eggs 2.99

Green Onions 50 cents
Bananas 90 cents
Sun Dried Tomatoes 4.65

Total 48.41

  1. Great savings! I know the feeling of not wanting to hop from store to store. That happens to me once in a while. Last week was an off week for me. I didn't want to plan or anything and I busted my budget BIG TIME. But we all deserve a break once in a while right :)

  2. Great savings this week. It is difficult to feed a family and stay within a strict budget. I am hoping to establish a great stockpile and then start to reduce my budget. I am almost there.
