We compared Campbell's, Great Value, and Kroger tomato soup.
Here is the cost breakdown:
- Campbell's: $0.60
- Great Value: $0.62
- Kroger: $0.59
Not a huge difference: I would be willing to pay an extra cent or two to get the best tasting soup.
I used to be a firm believer that Campbell's was the only tomato soup, but doing this taste test proved me wrong! The most flavorful tomato soup was actually Great Value. Campbell's tasted good, but, wasn't nearly as good as Great Value. Kroger, however, was a big disappointment. Even thought it looked just like tomato soup, it tasted just like chicken broth! In fact, I had to try it again just to make sure I wasn't just imagining it.
The winner of the Tomato Soup taste test? Great Value, hands down.
