Simple Savings - Turn Down the Heat

As winter is approaching, it reminded me of something we started doing two years ago that has saved us some money. We turned down the thermostat to 65 degrees. At first I was freezing, but I got used to putting on an extra sweater or sleeping with an extra blanket. We also noticed that we didn't get sick as often with our heat turned down. It sure was an added benefit, but I don't know if the two had anything to do with each other. If you aren't sure you can handle this, then turn down the heat one degree at a time until you find the temperature that you feel good with. Our neighbors turned theirs down the 62, but that was too cold for us.
