One thing I do around our house, is to try to use less meat than a recipe calls for. For our Asian salad today, I divided the meat in half and will use the rest next week in another Asian salad. I use 1/3 to 1/2 of a pound of Italian sausage instead of a pound when I make Spaghetti Pie or homemade pizza. If you are making Mexican or Tex-Mex food, you can cut the meat down and add extra beans. If you are making meatballs or meatloaf, you can add oatmeal or bread crumbs to stretch it.
