Simple Savings: Drink Water

One of the easiest ways to save money is to just switch to water instead of soda, juice, etc.  If you have a couple of minutes, sit down and try to figure out just how much you spend on drinks.  Remember to add drinks that you consume when you go out to eat, too.  For example, if you buy 2 liters of soda a week at $1 each, then you spend $104 per year just on soda.  If you go out to eat, the conservative average price of a drink is $1.50 to $1.75.  When we were in graduate school, and had several kids, we didn't buy soda when we went out because it was so expensive.  Now we don't buy it because we are used to water, soda has empty calories, and water is much healthier.  I know we save hundreds of dollars each year by drinking water.
