$50 Grocery Challenge - Spent $47.53

This is what I got for this week.  I am trying two new recipes, and some of the ingredients cost more than I would normally spend.  Because I anticipate having leftover fruit and dessert from our wedding reception this week, I didn't buy as much produce as I normally would. Buying several organics sure took a bite out of my budget this week!

Break down:

1.59    Tilamook Sour cream
3.99    Chicken
3.59    Chicken
1.99    Basil in a small package - expensive!
.14    Celery stick by the pound
.42    Baby spinach by the pound
1.70    Tomatoes on the Vine
  .99    Green Leaf Lettuce
2.99    Tilamook Butter
2.99    Farm Eggs - local
1.38    (2) one pound bags of carrots
  .35    Bulk Garlic
1.00    (2) Green Peppers
3.69    Organic Feta Cheese - expensive!
1.88    Bananas
2.09    Quart Organic Whole Milk
1.69    Pint Organic 1/2 & 1/2
1.59    Grape Tomatoes
1.69    5 lb. bag of potatoes
2.99    Florida Natural Orange Juice
1.31    Cheap Cream of Tarter

    1. I asked the produce guy and he let me. It may depend on the actual store. Some stores charge more per pound for celery by the stalk, but it is worth it for me if I only want one piece. Next time you go to your grocery store, just ask the produce person.
