$5 Weekly Pantry Stock Up - Spent $4.94

I was wanting to get different things to stock up on this week, but I just couldn't pass up the great deals on these.  The peanut butter was 50 cents per jar and the Rotel was 17 cents per can for 16 cans and 42 cents for the 17th can.  This was a lot of food for what I spent!

  1. Just found your blog and have enjoyed looking around. I find myself getting so frustrated though. I see so many blogs on getting things so cheap or even free. How??? I live in a very rural area. We have 2 grocery stores. Save-a-Lot and and IGA. IGA being ver expensive. Any suggestions?

  2. There are 35,000 people where we live. I don't have the opportunities that people in big cities have with double coupons, but there are other advantages that outweigh that living where we do. Some weeks there are good deals and some weeks there aren't. I used coupons to get the items in this post. Our prices here are higher, but we do have a Walmart and several other grocery stores. Some stores have markdowns and you can get half off or more that way, especially if you use a coupon combined with the sale. I haven't spent a lot of time posting store deals, but there are other people who do on their blog. I may start in April or May, but I won't be for the next couple of months. Cooking from scratch has saved me tons of money. Also, having a garden and canning or freezing really helps. We have an IGA here but they don't have very good deals. Occasionally, they do have good markdowns. You can always ask the produce manager if you can buy the produce they won't put out any more for a reduced price. I have a lot of other ideas, but I would need to know a little more about you and your situation first. I have an article about feeding yourself for $10 a week that might also have some ideas. Feel free to e-mail me or comment with any other questions.
