I talked to one of the other people who is doing this challenge with us. He said that he is feeling so much better not eating sugar this month. He also said that it was a reward in and of itself. On the weekend, he went to a birthday party for someone in his family and he said it was very easy to say no to dessert. I must admit that I was a little envious that he could do that so easily! He said that he had made a commitment for the month so he is just going to keep it. He has also lost between 4-6 pounds.
If I was losing that much weight, I think I would feel a little more excited about the challenge! It hasn't been as hard as in the past, but I can't say it has been easy either. I am making it, but it has taken effort. The thing I have noticed about myself is that I don't snack as much because there isn't anything that sounds worth eating. At some point, you can get your fill of healthy foods, fruits and vegetables. So, that has been a real plus for me. Hopefully I will be able to keep more long term. I am doing better overall, but I guess anything worth doing takes some effort. 11 more days...
