Simple Savings: Rules for Using a Credit Card

There is just one rule for a credit card:  if you can't afford to pay cash for something, you can't afford to charge it.  You should only use your credit card to charge things you can pay for in FULL when the bill comes.  If I charge something, I will write a check for the amount of the item I bought right away and put it in the drawer until the credit card bill comes.  That way, when the bill comes, there are no surprises.  There are checks for everything on the bill already in the drawer waiting to be sent.
