Several years ago, I came across this poem. I am not sure who the author is, but I believe that this is the real reason to declutter and simplify our lives. If you surround yourself with the things you NEED and limit what you have, it is easier to clean and you have more time to spend with things that are much more important. If you don't have young kids, the extra time you have could be spent doing volunteer work, pursuing an education or interest, or serving others. Simplify your meals, simplify your cleaning, simplify your schedule and make time for the things that matter most.
Cleaning and Scrubbing can wait 'til tomorrow,
For babies grow up, we've learned to our sorrow...
So quiet down cobwebs,
Dust go to sleep,
I'm rocking my baby
And babies don't keep.
May you figure out the best way to organize, simplify and live your life so that you can be happy.
