Simple Savings: Make Your Own Cloth Diapers

For the record, I never used cloth diapers except for two weeks when I wanted to prove to my husband that I could do it if I really had to. But, if money is tight and you have some old fabric or an old shirt or something to practice on, and if your apartment complex pays for your water and heating bill, why not try making a diaper and see if it works? It is one way you can save some money. You won't have to feel guilty about throwing so many disposable diapers into the landfill and you won't have to worry about what kind of chemicals are in the diapers you put on your baby. Here are two websites, poo pockets and diaper sewing, that show how to make cloth diapers. Diaper sewing has a pattern for free, but you can probably figure out how to make them on the poo pocket website without buying the pattern.  If you google homemade cloth diapers, you will probably get a lot more. If you have wondered about using cloth diapers, here is your chance to try it without the initial expense involved.
