Simple Savings: Just Ask - They Can Always Say No

I have been working on some reservations at some hotels, and have called to see if they would match a competitor's price or just work with me on the price. I have had some pretty good luck. I think it is worth it to ask because if they say no, then you are not any worse off then when you started. You may be surprised. Even if you call the same hotel at different times of the day, you may find someone willing to work with you. There are times when I have found things in the grocery store that are close to they sell date. If I really want the item, I sometimes ask if they will mark it down since it is so close to the sale date. Sometimes they will. It doesn't hurt to ask. They can always say no.
