Homemade Bagels - Yum!

My picture turned out right this time. Lately it has uploaded sideways. I made these bagels and then used different toppings on them. They turned out lighter than normal. I think it is because I used bread flour this time. Here's the recipe if you are interested:

Bagels

3 1/3 cups flour

2 Tbsp. sugar

2 tsp. Yeast

1 tsp. salt

1 1/8 cups warm water

1 Tbsp. oil

Combine water and yeast. Add remaining ingredients using only 3 cups flour. Knead adding last 1/3 cup flour if necessary. Let rise until doubled. Form bagels. Let rise about 30 minutes and then bake at 375 for 20 minute or until brown. I use 100 whole wheat flour or a combination sometimes.

I don't remember the title of the book, but it was a Wheat Montana recipe book that I checked out from the library or got at a garage sale. The recipe is from a lady named Shirley Marks. I usually double the recipe since it makes about 6 bagels for one recipe.
