Danish Pastries

I made these this morning. I haven't made them for years, and I don't know why. They taste so good. My oldest daughter LOVES these. The crust almost melts in your mouth. They are perfect for the holidays.

DANISH PASTRIES

Pastry:

½ Cup Butter
1 Cup flour
2 Tbsp . hot water

Cut butter into flour. Sprinkle with water and form into ball. Divide in half. Press into 2 oblongs 4 inches wide on ungreased baking sheet.

Filling:

½ Cup Butter
1 tsp. Almond extract
3 Eggs
1 Cup Water
1 Cup flour

Bring butter and water to rolling boil. Add almond and flour. Stir quickly over low heat until it forms a ball. Add eggs and stir until smooth. Divide in half. Spread over oblongs. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Cool. Frost.

Frosting:

1 ½ Cups Powdered Sugar
2 Tbsp. Butter
2 Tbsp. Water
½ tsp. Vanilla

Beat with electric mixer until smooth.

I cut these into 3/4 to 1 inch wide pieces. They taste great!
