Conquering Clutter: Files and Christmas List

The last two days I have been working in our office off and on getting rid of papers.  When was the last time you went through your files and got rid of papers you don't need?  I read that 80 percent of papers in your file never see the light of day again.  That is what motivated me to see what was in our files and get rid of papers we don't need.  I have shredded over 250 pages and still have some more to do.  It is nice to know that when we are done, we will only have what we really need and no more.  If you have time this next week, go through your files and see if there are any papers you don't need.  Make a goal of getting rid of 5, 10, 25, or 50 papers a day until you are done.  Maybe you would rather go through a folder a day.  Find what works best for you.  Make sure you know what papers you need for tax purposes and how many years you need to keep important papers.

I also went through our Christmas list and updated addresses for our friends.  It is a good feeling to have an updated list.
