$50 Grocery Challenge - Spent $49.87

First trip:  Spent a total of $12.50.

Breakdown:

2.75    Simply Lemonade
2.10    Montreal Steak Seasoning
1.94    Bananas
1.99    Eggs - no hormones, antibiotics, etc.
2.99    Butter - Tilamook
  .73    Cornmeal - .84 lbs. @  87 cents per pound
Second Trip:  I bought 4 large packs of chicken with a rain check at Rosauer's.  The rain check was for grill packs, but since they didn't have any then let me get breasts and thighs.  It ended up costing $16.98 total for all 4 packages.  I went to Albertson's and bought 7 bottles of Vitamin water for 15 cents each or $1.05 and got two free packages of pasta.  At the last store I went to, I spent $19.34.  I bought the following:
1.33    Rosemary
2.99    Orange Juice
2.99    Nancy's Organic Yogurt
2.99    Grapefruit Juice
1.31    Cream of Tarter
2.71    Shortening
1.49    Avocado
2.00    (4) grapefruits
1.53    Cinnamon

Grand total for all of the trips:  $49.87  (I almost got bananas, but had the clerk take them off because I thought I might go over.  I am glad I did or I would have gone over!)

I know the food I bought this week couldn't feed us balanced meals, but we have lots of frozen veggies and fruits that need to be used.  If I keep buying fresh, then I won't use them.  So, I am taking some time off and using what needs to be eaten and stocking up instead on chicken and spices that I can use in the future.
