Homemade French Fries

In our family, we love potatoes any way you cook them!  This recipe is one I made that is really easy and healthier than deep frying the potatoes.

Step 1 - Peel and slice potatoes the size you want for fries

Step 2 - Put sliced potatoes into a gallon Ziploc bag.  Add some oil.  (I don't know how much I add, since I just pour it in to save me from washing another dirty dish)  Close bag and turn bag around in hands a few times to spread oil.

Step 3 -  Open bag and add some flour and any spices you want on the fries.  I think I use about 1/4 to 1/3 cup of flour, but it is never the same.  Close bag again and turn around in hands a few times to get flour and spices coated evenly on potatoes.

Step 4 - Butter a cookie sheet and dump fries from bag to cookie sheet.  Cook at 375 until done.  (about 20-30 minutes in my oven) Mine are usually a little brown on some of the fries.  You can always taste one to see if it is done.  I tried greasing the pan with shortening and with oil, but mine don't stick if I use butter.  I don't know about margarine because I don't like to buy it.

The ziploc bag is great since you don't get messy and clean up is a breeze!
