Homemade Wheat Bread

I love the smell of homemade bread.  Today I made wheat bread.  It turned out well, even with powdered milk in it!  Here's the recipe if you are interested:

4 cups wheat flour
2 Tablespoons yeast
1 Tablespoon salt
2-4 TBSP gluten (this really helps your bread to stay together well, but you don't have to use it if you don't have it.
1/3 to 1/2 cup powdered milk (powder, don't mix with water)

Mix these together.

Put these in a sauce pan and heat until warm.  You don't want it hot or it will kill the yeast.
3 cups water
1/3 to 1/2 cup honey
2 Tbsp to 3 Tbsp oil

Add to dry ingredients and mix.

Then add an egg.

Last, add enough white flour to until the dough is no longer sticky.  Let rise until doubled.  Shape into loaves and rise for about 30 minutes.  Bake between 350 until done, probably about 30 minutes depending on your oven.
Enjoy!!
