25 Dollar Grocery Challenge - spent $6.59
I accepted a challenge to feed our family of four (2 adults, 2 teenagers) for 25 dollars for a week. Thanks to Coupon Savvy in Cowlitz Co., I have a 25 dollar Kroger gift card. Instead of just spending the 25 dollars for the week and using what I have already on hand, I am going to calculate the cost of whatever the food is whether I buy it this week or have it on hand. I think that will make it a bit more accurate. I will post what we eat and also post my shopping trips this week. I will try to get most of the items with the gift card, but I find that if I am going to feed us for about $3.57 per day, I need to have the liberty to shop around for discounts at all the stores if I want. Here is my shopping trip this morning. I spent $6.59 for everything you see. Luckily, I had some good coupons and got some free yogurt, free pickles, and free salad. I am grateful that my family is having a great attitude. I put a picture of the receipts in case you want to see just what I spent for what.
