Preparing for the Holidays: October Declutter continued...

Today I worked on an extra bedroom that we have.  We use the armoire in there for some of our clothes since we don't have a dresser in our bedroom.  I used to have a drawer for school/office supplies as well as a shelf for notebooks, paper, etc.  I consolidated this into one shelf and replaced any old or nonworking markers, etc. in the junk drawer with the extra school supplies I had on hand.  Anything extra will be donated.

It is very hard not to want to buy new school supplies every summer when they are so inexpensive, especially when you can get some for a penny or a nickel.  But, we just don't go school supplies any more like we used to with all five kids at home.  If I choose to buy school/office supplies on sale, I usually will donate them to the school to help others who can't afford them.

I tried to take a picture of the closet with almost nothing in it, but for some reason it just didn't want to work.  I have a notebook and large notebook-sized plastic container with genealogy papers in them.  My plan is to consolidate them into the notebook only.  It shouldn't take too long.

How are you doing on your decluttering this month?
